Prodanov came to cigars not through the industry, but through instinct. Over a decade ago, he bought a pair of antique Royal Jamaica boxes at auction, smoked one on a whim, and found himself unable to stop thinking about why it tasted the way it did. That first encounter became a pursuit of knowledge that never really stopped.

He spent years attending events, asking unusually precise questions, and building the type of foundation that only comes from repeated exposure to serious smokers, brand owners, distributors, retailers, and collectors. In 2021, he earned his formal Cigar Sommelier qualification, not as a credential for appearance, but as a way to earn his place in the field properly.
