About MGA
Modern Gentleman Archive is the leading global digital publication and production studio documenting contemporary culture through the lens of refinement, craft, and considered living.
MGA explores style, craftsmanship, business, design, and cultural production with an emphasis on longevity rather than trends. Our editorial focus is not on performance or spectacle, but on how individuals, objects, and institutions are built, maintained, and carried forward over time.
At its core, MGA functions as an archive. We examine values expressed through work, discipline, and taste—whether found in classic automobiles, cigar culture, tailored aesthetics, hospitality, design, or travel shaped by heritage and context. Subjects are approached with attention to background, process, and perspective rather than surface appeal.
MGA publishes long-form features, interviews, and visual editorials that may combine commissioned photography, sourced imagery, and written profiles. Content is developed with editorial independence and released either as part of curated issues or as standalone entries within the Archive.
The publication also serves as a platform for contemporary creators and professionals. We collaborate selectively with artists, designers, musicians, photographers, entrepreneurs, and institutions whose work reflects clarity of vision and consistency of execution. MGA maintains a global outlook, drawing influence from cultural centers including Paris, Milan, London, Zurich, and Miami.
The MGA Podcast extends the publication into conversation. Episodes are structured as editorial interviews focused on background, decision-making, and process, documenting perspectives from across business, culture, and craft. The podcast is distributed through MGA’s video and audio platforms and functions as an extension of the Archive itself.
MGA is built for permanence. Our objective is to create a growing editorial record—meant to be read, referenced, and retained—documenting the modern gentleman’s world with restraint and clarity.
Meet The MGA Team
EDITOR-IN-CHIEFFrederik Guard is the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Modern Gentleman Archive, an international luxury magazine and production studio focused on refined living, cultural depth, and enduring standards. Based in Miami, Florida he established MGA as a structured editorial platform dedicated to documenting contemporary gentleman culture through the lenses of craftsmanship, heritage, and modern influence.
With experience across media, luxury, cultural strategy, and academic research in digital communication and ethics, Guard brings both practical insight and analytical discipline to the publication’s direction. His work spans fashion, hospitality, music, and creative industries, contributing to a clear understanding of how cultural identity, aesthetics, and long-term brand value are developed within modern media environments.
Modern Gentleman Archive operates as both a publication and an expanding media platform. In addition to editorial production, it develops strategic initiatives across production, advertising, and cross-platform media distribution. The publication is structured to scale internationally while maintaining consistent editorial standards.
Under his leadership, MGA functions as a living archive documenting style, discipline, and cultural continuity within a modern global context. Its readership includes individuals drawn to structured ambition, legacy thinking, and refined cultural expression.
Mara Guard
CREATIVE DIRECTORMara Guard is the Creative Director of Modern Gentleman Archive, where she shapes the publication’s visual identity, aesthetic direction, and creative atmosphere. Her role spans editorial design, photography and video production, visual curation, and the musical tone that underpins the Archive’s world.
With a background rooted in fashion, music and visual culture, Guard brings an instinctive understanding of style as both expression and discipline. Her presence moves effortlessly between contrasts: sharp leather and tailored restraint, modern edge and old-world elegance. This duality defines her approach to creative direction—balancing strength with refinement, minimalism with emotion.
Before stepping into her role at MGA, Guard built an international career in fashion, developing a precise eye for silhouette, composition, and cinematic storytelling. That experience informs her work behind the scenes, where she is closely involved in the development of editorial shoots, visual narratives, and the overall sensory language of the publication. Nothing is decorative by accident; every image, texture, and rhythm is intentional.
Her creative philosophy is guided by clarity, proportion, and mood, favoring intention and restraint over excess or imitation. Drawing from global culture, classic aesthetics, and contemporary art, Guard curates an environment where style feels lived-in rather than performed. She approaches creative direction as world-building—constructing a visual and emotional space that feels aspirational, modern, and quietly powerful.
At Modern Gentleman Archive, Guard ensures that refinement is not only written about, but seen and felt. Her work invites readers into a world where elegance is confident, individuality is disciplined, and style is a language spoken without explanation.
